This is an idea I've been toying with for a while.  Do you guys think anyone would be interested?  I don't plan to sell through dA (XD  I'd like to make more than a $2.00 profit, thank you very much)  I don't have a printer that would be up to this so I'm looking at a local place.

When considering buying a print, what size is most attractive to you?

5x7

9x12

18x24

These will probably be on glossy or semi-glossy paper.  I'm trying to keep my costs as low as possible so I can sell them for a fair price.

I really have no idea what I'm doing here or even if this is a good idea.  Any comments or suggestions would be really appreciated.

BIG! Like poster sized!(or wall sized) and semigloss. glossy just reflects all light making it harder to see the wonderfulness of your creativity on my will-be poster covered wall!

hahahaha, for you I will do this. XD Poster sized is too big for anything I could do at home - even with a good printer. I'm checking out a print shop nearby. We'll see what happens.

Well my only suggestion for cost affectiveness would be getting regular photo paper and printing them yourself. It saves the hassles of other computers reading files wrong or prints coming out wrong..trust me that can be a hassle in itself. If your willing to do this new method of selling your art more power to you and very good luck in no matter what you choose =).

XD I would, but my printer sucks. lol! That's why I have to go to an outside source. I have been looking at buying my own but they are crazy expensive.

yeah the larger paper format printers are a ton expensive from what I remember them telling me in my design classes. I figured though the smaller sized ones that go along with normal sized paper can be done that way at home. I myself would have to outsource my projects to others hands lol. Still though good luck and stuffs =).

yus, they are crazy expensive but totally worth it. The larger format ones usually print amazingly. *sighs* Maybe Santa will bring me one. lol

Haha I used to say that...though for me it was more like santa bring me a lapytop with design programs in it, either that or spending the holidays with my love...santa cant fit that in his sack XD. Probably for ya settle for a card loaded with cash then get the printer lol thats easier to tote all over the world lol.

i agree with the above but I think the two sized we measured on my wall and post card sized ones are the best. They are the usual and what i see most artists selling, so it would be cool to have something out of the ordinaire but it might be cost prohibitive. :)

yus, that's kinda what I am thinking too. This is going to be spendy as it is. I agree with you. Looks like I probably won't get any mid-sized right now.
